Future Models?

Test Run.
I wanted to do a test run with some photo ideas.  What were the things that worked against me you might ask?

1) Laney had no nap, but hasn't in a year and a half so...you know.
2) Laney recently learned that we think it is funny when she pulls faces.
3) Laney was just being Laney. :)

I am not a professional...and I have never done anything with the black backdrop before.  I am hoping that maybe the next session will be wall worthy.   I realized recently that we need updated pictures of the girls, especially Laney as a three year old and not 8 months.

How much candy is too much candy?

I promise I didn't give Laney this many potty treats.
Someone, I won't name names...but the only male in this household who is 30 years old...
gave Laney the Easter candy and forgot to put it back up.

Future Missionary

The thought of sending Crew on a mission already fills my mind.  First comes Excitement.  Then Nerves.  Then the feeling of missing him already.  Hope he goes abroad but somewhere I would go myself. :)  All that Jazz.  With all that said, I know he will be a good looking little man.

Back to work. Day 1.

Josh had to go back to work today. Whaaaa!  That Whaaaaa is from me, not the baby.  Although I am sure he misses his Dad too.  :(

I must say, it is going better than I thought, although I have had some help.

Kadie and Laney went to a playdate at their friend's Cole and Sebby's this morning.  So it was just me and the babe.  I gave him a bath, and did my graphics for the week for www.shesheme.com and then I didn't know what to do, so I just held the baby and watched TV for a little.  It felt a little strange, but was so nice to just relax a little with Crew.  My other friend Alicia is bringing Kadie home which is so nice, especially since going to school was a little crazy.

Laney took off running and I couldn't run after her because I had the baby, so I yelled to Kadie to go and get her.  By the time I caught up with them by the street Kadie was holding Laney's shirt and leaning back as far as she could, while Laney was leaning forward.  Both of them screaming at me.  It was just delightful!  Nothing says I can handle three kids like that image.

I haven't even really cried!  Other than last night, just the thought of Josh leaving drove me to tears, but today has been pretty good.  I hate the baby blues.  I know I am just sleep deprived and emotional whacked for a little bit after babies come...but I do really miss Josh being here.  The last week and a half went by too fast.  I didn't actually even tear up really until Laney started crying when we got home saying "I miss my daddy!"  That did it, but it only lasted a second and then I was good.

Luckily Josh went back on a Thursday, so I just have tomorrow and then it will be weekend freedom from School and work for a couple of days.  I have a feeling that I will begin to live for the weekend again!

Home made Band-Aid

How to make a home made band-aid
By Laney Waldron

1) Get an awesome "ouchie" at the park or somewhere outdoors
2) Ask your mama for some tape, I used masking tape for a more band-aid look
3) Put tape over your "ouchie"
4) Decorate your band-aid to your hearts desire!

Little Mommy

Kadie is destined to become a mother one day.  This is the new night time routine.  Put on PJ's, brush teeth, read stories, say prayers...and then hand over the baby.  She cuddles with him every night and they both fall asleep together.  It is the sweetest thing.

4 Grandchildren and Counting...

Kylie and I doubled the number of grand kids for our family in the last 6 months.
Here is Grammy and her grand kids!
All Four, from left to right:  Laney (didn't realize she was so sad in the picture, sorry Lanes), Kadie holding cousin Skylar, and Grammy holding baby Crew!

Crew...one week old

My little Crew.  Cruiser.  (stole that from Shannon)
One week old already.  I'm already reminiscing over the first week, I can't get it back. :(

Park Day with the Fam

One of the first official outings as a family of 5.  Aunt Kylie and Uncle Mike came to visit their new nephew Crew...and our kids got to hang out with their only cousin on my side of the family...baby Skylar!  We went to the park because it was such a nice day.

Laney pushed Skylar on the swing, Uncle Mike and Kadie climbed the giant spider web, and Crew relaxed in the shade.  All in all, it was a success...except Kylie got a sunburn and Laney ended up soaking wet with no pants.  Just the usual you know. :)

Here is baby Skylar, all grown up! Not really, but she seemed so much bigger this time! Probably because she is now CRAWLING and just jibber-jabbing away in her language all of the time.  She is such a cute and happy baby.

Monster Baby

Boo!

Kadie picked out this outfit long before Crew arrived.  She will correct you and tell you it is a dinosaur outfit.  But I thought it was so cute, I wanted to share our little Monster baby! :)

Kadie is all about Crew, so watch out if you visit...you may not get to hold him if Kadie has a say in it.  Laney calls him baby "Cool" - she can't say Crew very well.  But it is just fine, we think he is pretty cool ourselves.

Guaranteed same day delivery?

Friday April 10th - For those of you who like to read stories

After being painfully adamant about being prepared for this baby...
I decided to take Friday and just make it a lazy day.
It was the last day of Spring Break, and the girls and I had a fun-filled week
of movie's and park days. We were all a little worn out.
I woke up, took a long bath which I haven't done since we moved here.
I think cleaning the bathrooms really well about twice a week
made me confident I could do that. :)

We stayed in our pajamas all day...and I was excited
for Josh to get home for pizza night and start our Easter Weekend!

Change of plans...but this is pretty close to how things went time-wise I think
3:30: my water broke...or I thought it did
3:31: Called Josh to tell him, and he told me to call my doctor
3:32: called my doctor and the receptionist told me she would call me back
3:35: Contraction # 1 Ouch!
3:36: Josh called back to tell me his associate googled it
and most likely my water did break,
He was in Sunnyvale but was headed home!
3:37: Contactions are a go!
Hee Hee Hoooooo, Hee Hee Hoooooo!
3:38: My doctor called back and told me to go straight to the hospital
3:40: called my mom who was already on her way to Danville
(close to us in San Ramon)
because Morgan had food poisoning and needed to go to the doctor.
We planned to have her come and get the girls and
then I was to wait for Josh to get here and then head to the hospital with him.
3:42: Contractions are 1 minute apart and I am having trouble catching my breath.
Kadie is bringing me stuffed animals,
and patting my back saying over and over "Isn't this exciting mom?!?!"
4:00: mom showed up to find me trying to breath,
Laney with no pants and Kadie still really excited!
4:01: Mom tells me she is taking me to the hospital because my contractions
are right on top of each other.
4:02: No time to change cars...we grab bags, put pants on Laney,
get the girls and head out the door and jump in our Honda Pilot. Somehow I remembered to grab a towel to sit on.

4:03: I almost didn't make it down the stairs!
My mom booked it to the hospital sparing all pedestrians and bikers!

4:08: We arrive at hospital.
I get out of the car and walk as fast as I can while my mom parks the car.
4:09: I am at a stand still in front of the birthing center with my pants soaked
and trying to breathe.
A random lady comes around the corner and yells "I'll get help!" and goes off to find some.
4:10: Here come 3-4 nurses and a wheelchair to take me all the way in.
4:11: Rolling passed the check in they ask me my name.
I yell out "Leisa Waldron, (hooooo hoooooo)" and spell Waldron,
then "Who is your doctor?" I yell it as they roll me into a room.
4:12: The nurses are trying to coax me out of the wheelchair and onto the bed.
4:13: They get me on the bed. Nurse Crissy rips off my pants and the head nurse checks me.
Nurse Crissy (only name I remember out of all 5 of them in the room) goes into the hall
to tell my mom and girls that they need to stay out in the waiting area.
4:14: My mom calls Josh who just got off the freeway and tells him he better hurry fast.

My eyes were closed so tight trying to breathe but I managed to open them
to look at the nurse. She had big eyes,
and I just knew it was too late but I asked anyway.
"What am I at?"
"Your at an 8"
"I can't get an epidual?!?"
"No it is too late for that"
I start to cry,
hee hee hooooooo....
"I can't have anything?!?"
"No, I'm sorry. Nurse! Page Doctor Hilliard!"

Josh calls my mom to tell her he parked in the Emergency area
and she tells him to book it across the hospital to
the Birthing Center and make it snappy!
4:17: Josh runs in the room full of nurses and commotion
He kisses me on the forehead and rubs my legs just in time
for the nurse to check me and yell
"She's at a 10! Try not to push Leisa"
Hee hee hooooo....hoooooo....hoooooo....
4:18 The nurse tells Josh to hold my left leg.
4:19: With my eyes closed tight, I am so scared and in 10 times more pain
than I ever thought it would be.
I open them to look at Josh for reassurance,
but he looks scared too, so I closed them again.
I yell "His head is coming out!"
Nurses yell back "We know! Try to breath, don't push!"
4:20: Joshua Crew Waldron is born.

4:22: I was in shock...thinking holy cow I am in labor!
A few minutes later I realized I was done.
4:26 Dr. Hilliard runs in the room, without much else to do.
50 minute labor and delivery, painful, and scary beyond belief!
Totally worth it for this handsome little guy.
Josh says our little Crew just 'cruised' into this world!

Teaser

My soon to be born son is already teasing me!

Last night was the second night this week I thought I might be going into labor.  It was a night full of intense contractions that started while I was watching The Office and 30 Rock with Josh.  I think I missed some funny parts, but I kept laughing when Josh laughed to take my mind off of the pain.  I think I might have to watch them again to appreciate the humor I missed while holding my breath.

Yesterday at my appt I found out I am 60% and at a 3...for those of you who want to know and don't mind too much information.  Hence, I am ready to go and now contemplating Castor Oil.

At 4:30 am contractions completely stopped, but by then I was hungry.  I made some Sprinkle toast (cinnamon toast) and milk and plopped in front of the TV to find that Bringing home Baby is on that early in the morning.

First episode was a family with a 3 1/2 year old girl who went nutso with tantrums when they brought her baby sister home.  Second episode was a CA couple who brought a cute little baby boy home that kept peeing on them every time they changed his diaper.

I am nervous.  Excited too...but definitely nervous.

Why I know Laney loves food

1) Well, obviously she loves to eat for one.  And strange things for a 3 year old too!  Like her love of roasted almonds or bites of my turkey avocado sandwich.  I think she just likes saying "fudditch" for that one though.  (translated to "sandwich" in regular English).

2) My favorite.  She names things the colors of food.  For instance, her favorite Littlest Pet Shop animal is the "chocolate" mouse.  And when we cross the street to Kadie's school she wants to walk on the "cheese" line.  You know - that yellow line on either side of the crosswalk that is the color of cheese. :)

3) Laney pretends to make food for me all of the time.  It is one of her favorite things to pretend.  We play restaurant quite often with delectable plastic melt-in-your-mouth food.

4) Doesn't have to do with why she loves food...but my favorite word she says right now.
Hamburger.  She says it just like Steve Martin in Pink Panther.  "Ehm-buh-geerhl" or somethings like that.  You must comment if you tried to say that. :)

Pizzaria!

This little family tradition was made on accident.  When in charge of a days worth of meals on our Waldron family vacation, we thought it would be fun to make quick home-made pizza's.  I am the queen of quick and easy meals.  (All though I am crafty - I hate loooooong cooking).

We figured we knew what ingredients to use, and had made homemade pizza before but wanted something easier and tasty.  As was invented our Friday night tradition that has been going on for 3 months now.  It has evolved from one big pizza, to two personal pan pizza's, and now is the mini pizza night for our little family.  This is FOR REAL a 30 minute meal and fun for kids and adults alike!

Ingredients:
Rhodes Rolls Frozen Roll dough (we can only seem to find it at Target)
Pizza Sauce (We use Contadina - also found at Target...best "pizza" flavor)
Mozzarella Cheese - if you get the giant bag from Costco, you can freeze it since it is pre-shredded and it will still taste the same
Add any other toppings you want!

Step one:  Let the dough rise
Roll package suggests at least two hours...so you do have to plan ahead.

Step two:  Preheat oven to 400 degrees.  Smash dough balls in between palms of hands and then gently stretch the width rotating to make a tiny pizza crust.  Place on a greased cookie sheet about 1 inch apart.

Step Three:  Spoon on yummy pizza sauce.  We like Contadina pizza squeeze sauce from Target.  $1.29 a bottle or around there.  Enough for about 30 mini pizza's.

Step four:  Sprinkle on the Mozzarella...the cheesier the better. :)  Go ahead and add your toppings too!

Step six: Cook at 400 degrees for 10-12 minutes or until cheese and crust is a golden brown.

Step Seven:  EAT!  Maybe watch a movie and relax with the fam. :)

When you live in a small place, you have no choice but to get creative when things change and you need 'more' space.  Hence, the teeny tiny baby boy room.  Lots of boyish flare squeezed into about 20 square feet of our enormous master bedroom.  In case you missed the sarcasm there...I will let you know that our master bedroom serves as
  • 1) Place to sleep/romantic getaway
  • 2) Leisa's office
  • 3) Josh's office (when he works from home)
  • 4) family computer station
  • 5) Leisa's art studio
  • 6) Leisa's jewelry shop
  • 7) craft central and now...
  • 8) baby boy room.

I have no doubt that little Crew/Noah will be happy here, he will be small enough to fit and young enough not to remember that we seriously contemplated letting him sleep in the dresser drawer like so many of our parents say they did with us.  Part of me just feels like my kids deserve the to-die-for nursery out of Land of nod.

When the time comes for us to move into a house (gasp!) I know that I will feel spoiled just to have a full size washer and dryer and a closet big enough to actually have my clothes in my room (not the play room) as well as Josh's. :)

Make that one GINORMOUS walk-in closet...is that being too greedy?
