Pumpkins

My grandparents are in town this Halloween!
When we were visiting with them last weekend,
they had the most awesome idea to carve pumpkins...

Grandpa got his favorite job. :)

This is the first of many pictures of Laney covering her face.

If you look closely, Kadie is trying to make the same face as her Jack-o-lantern.
And Laney is actually smiling in her picture. (Amazing Josh could get her to do it).
These are the before (drawing with marker on the pumpkins) and after they were carved.

For the Picture Below!
Top Left - Kadie doing her witch cackle and Laney has something in her eye?
Top Right - Kadie acting scared, Laney being Laney
Bottom Left - Laney didn't know we were taking another picture, Kadie growling
Bottom Right - Kadie being sassy, Laney being Laney. :)

Happy Halloween!!!

Getting Bigger!

Just had Crew's 6 month check up yesterday...

He is 26 3/4 inches tall (over two feet? So weird.) - 45 %
17 lb 3 oz - 28 %
17 1/4 inch head circumference - 37 %

He isn't as big as I thought...according to the percentiles.
Compared to Kadie's 1 year weight of 12 1/2 lbs...he is nice and chubby.

I hope the next 6 months go slower, but I have a feeling they won't. :(

BlackSingles.com

When I was born, my mom decided to spell my name L-E-I-S-A, instead of the L-I-S-A version. All because the nurse came in and said "Liza" to the L-I-S-A spelling, so my mom just popped an "e" in there. I actually love it now, because it is different. I like to be different sometimes, so I take pride in the spelling of my name. :)

Once we moved to California, where there are black people (as opposed to Utah), every fall my new teacher(s) would call out for "Lay-ee-sah" and then act surprised when a tiny white girl said, "here!" I was even voted the vice president of the BSU (Black Student Union) as a joke by my friend Chris who was black and thought it was hilarious when our substitute in Art called for "Lay-ee-sah" again and again...even after I said "here".

I now get emails from Blacksingles.com.

Maybe I will join just for fun. :)

More Pictures...

We had family pictures taken by Kelli Saunders,
I am sure many of you know who she is,
and I have seen some of you with portraits by her recently. :)

I can't wait to get them back, here is a preview!

Daddy! I'm over here!

We have a view of the 15th hole at the Bridges golf course from the front of our house. Every golfer that Laney sees outside she thinks it is her Daddy.

She just ran outside in her panties yelling at some poor schmuck and waving her hands saying... "Daddy! I'm over here! It's me Daddy!".

He was black.

Love it.

New Designs and Inspiration

I love it when I finally get my inspiration back. It usually ends in me being extremely tired because I have to stay up too late getting all of the ideas out of my head. Jewelry has been on my mind since before art in the park, and luckily a lot of inspiration came in time for me to get ready for the show.

I will be updating my SILVER LOFT STORE daily, so take a look and please tell me what you think. I love to get feedback, and a lot of my best ideas come from things that I hear from friends and family.

Two things:
1. Stay updated for a giveaway in about a month...maybe on more blogs than one.
2. Save the date...December 4th, 2009 - Holiday Boutique at my house.

GROCO family event

We went on Saturday to Josh's first company party since being hired at GROCO.
It was a bowling pizza party, and everyone brought some or all of their families.

It was a nice change of pace from the GT booze cruises that most of the time not even spouses were invited to attend.

Highlights of the night:
1. We didn't have to pay for anything, and all of us had a blast!

2. Everyone wanted to hold Crew and thought he was adorable. Nothing like being able to show off your baby with out having to "show off" your baby.

3. I won a trophy for highest women's score! Although Josh beat me all three games. :(

4. Laney won a trophy for "most potential"! She loved it so much she even she slept with it last night. :) What was more impressive was that one of her balls rolled a whopping 0.71 miles per hour down the lane and came to a dead stop at the pins. It reminded me of Uncle Buck.

Family Pictures!

Mom just turned 50! We celebrated at my parents home with a special night together, all of us!
We told stories, ate some awesome food by Chef's Morgan and Cade, opened presents and celebrated all that has come from these two getting married!

I am posting out of order. I NEVER DO THAT, but I wanted to put these on.
We also had family pictures last Saturday. It is sadly the only time we have done this since we got pictures at JCPenny or somewhere when my brothers were one year old!
It was fun! We all put our best smiles on (except Laney sometimes), and now we all have some keepsakes to put up in our home. We also were able to take the pictures at my parents house which will always bring memories. :)

Clowning Around...

When Laney saw these glasses and clown nose at the dollar store, she had to have them!
She even traded in a mermaid and a lizard stuffed animal for them.
Good thing too! It gave us a lot of cheap family entertainment!

I wish I was as photogenic as Alex! No fair.

Lovely Pose...

Now this takes talent!

Crew...6 months!

Look at our big 6 month old boy!!!

He is now trying to scoot to get to us or his toys!
He can roll over tummy to back and around to his tummy again!
He is the most ticklish baby I know.
He loves to laugh and smile!
He can hold his own bottle. :)
He has experienced sleeping through the night and we are hoping he gets back to that one.
He still loves to play with his toes.
He LOVES food!
He looks adorable in hats. I can't get enough.
He has thigh rolls and elbow dimples.
He is definitely a charmer...

I can't believe it has been 6 months since Crew was Born!
It seems like it was so long ago, and yet at the same time just yesterday.
I can't believe he was so tiny!
Here are some fun pictures of when Crew first arrived. :)

And month by month he has grown and learned new things...

He is the perfect little brother to Kadie and Laney.
He is so smiley and happy and it is definitely contagious!

I think we are all so excited to see what the next 6 months bring.
Happy 1/2 year Crew!
