How does she...???

I heard knocking and crying when I came out of the laundry room a couple of days ago.
It was coming from here.

Naturally I knew it was Crew inside and that Laney had put him there. I didn't know that when I opened it Laney would be in there too! I also don't know how she got the door shut from the inside. It is a hard cabinet to shut from the outside!

Oh Laney. :)

Haiti

I am just sick over the type of day Haiti is dealing with right now. They are estimating that 100,000-500,000 people could be dead and missing in the rubble of a 7.0 earthquake. The pictures are indescribable. Any movie made in relation to a huge earthquake couldn't compare. It is devastating. I can't imagine the fear and the chaos.

To know that Haiti is one of the world poorest countries just breaks my heart. I hope aid gets there quickly and people can be saved.

One particular picture of a small girl praying in a church really pulled at my heartstrings. I am so touched that children are keeping the people of Haiti in their prayers. We want to talk to our kids about it as best we can and ask them to pray with us for the people in Haiti as well.

I know people will turn to God in a time like this. I sincerely hope that they can gain some comfort and peace. My heart goes out to the families and friends of the people of Haiti.

Crew...9 months

9 months...what? 9 months! It is killing me. :(
My baby is getting so big!
Can you believe that 18 months ago I got pregnant? That is just weird.
In three months Crew will be one year old. That is more than weird, IT IS INSANE!
In October 2010, he will start attending Nursery at church, he is on the roster.
Sad. :(

I have to admit, I feel nostalgic about my "baby" every time he learns something new.

This is the best I could get with his Teddy bear. He just wouldn't stay still!

His little sparkling eyes are stinkin' cute.

He still has to grab EVERYTHING in his sight. And of course see how it tastes.

Biggest milestones?
He now has two baby teeth on the bottom.
He can walk along furniture.
He can throw and chase, he just keeps on resembling a puppy.
He loves books and thinks they are funny. Every time I turn a page he chuckles.
He can feed himself tiny pieces of food.
He can climb.
He loves the stairs almost more than taking a bath.

We are in trouble.

My absolute favorite thing?
He is a mama's boy. He wants me to hold him all of the time. He is always putting his face in my shoulder and acting shy or just trying to get a luv (hug) from me.
If I set him down in front of me to look at something or play with a toy, he will immediately turn around and give me a luv, and then he will play.

I love my little cuddly boy. I adore him. I think he is just darling, and I feel so lucky he is ours.
I hope the next three months are a little slower and just as fun as the past 9.

Girly Gecko's

Every night a ritual has begun. The girls take a bath, have a snack and right before story time and ultimately bed time, they hold their gecko's.

Laney's lizard Sassy (aka : Sassy googa lala mana {I know right???}), is becoming quite fond of her. :) She even kissed Laney last night on the cheek. She has a lot of spots, and is a mustard yellow color with a purple tail. She is a little smaller than Kadie's gecko.

Kadie gecko Lily is a little bit of a "wimp". She gets scared at loud noises and for some reason doesn't like giant people holding her. She squirms a lot and tries to jump away. She bit Kadie once, but Kadie is determined to get her to calm down. She is very gently with Lily. Lily is a little bit bigger than Sassy, and really colorful, especially under her heating lamp. She is orange and purple and brown with cat looking eyes! Kadie loves her.

This pet thing is working out better than I imagined. The girls are really learning to take special care of their girly gecko's. They also are making great memories together as sisters. :)
I think this will be something I look back on and smile about in 10 years.

Zoo day!

Now that we have a Zoo pass, we thought we would use it once more before the year was through, just to say we used it more than once in 2009. :)

I always think Laney would have made a good Monkey if she were an animal...

The girlies actually held hands exploring together.
These moments happen far and few between.

This was Crew's first trip to the zoo! His new thing he loves to do is look at everything upside down. Once he falls back, it is hard to get him to sit up right again. ;)

A fun day of exploration for us all! On to 2010!!!

Christmas Morning

The glow from the Christmas lights is my favorite.
I had to sneak them on all of the time at night because Josh kept turning them off to save energy. Lighten up man! I talked him into leaving them on all night for Christmas.

Unfortunately that meant that when Kadie woke up at 4:00 am she would STAY AWAKE,
and ultimately wake all of us up at 6:00 sharp. We did let Crew sleep in until 7:30.

The coolest thing Santa brought? Leopard Geckos for Kadie and Laney.
This is "Sassy" below. Laney named her all by herself.
Kadie named her Gecco Lily, but Lily is a little bit scared of giant humans right now.
We aren't really sure if they are both girls. :)

I never knew Santa brought pets. He is sneaky.
We also acquired a little cage full of hopping Crickets that we have to refill every week.
We now keep those buggers in the garage after we found several through out the house that had gotten loose. I got my revenge, the Geckos still ate them.

Where is Crew Boy?

I got so many great gifts this year. Creative ones, cute ones, warm ones. This one is my favorite gift from Kadie. She made it in school. I love the special design she made with the noodles around the edges. I think it hilarious that she drew little boobies on me. And I love that you have to play "Where's Waldo" to find Crew boy. :)

Can you find Crew?
