Why we live here...

Despite how much I dislike apartment renting, and the cost of living here in northern CA...this family excursion we took on Cinco de Mayo reminded me of how beautiful San Ramon Valley is.

Here is Josh with Crew (below) going on his first little hike up on Mount Diablo.

Actually...it was the first trip for ALL OF US!
How pathetic is it that we have never gone up there in the 6 years we have lived here?
We decided what better time to go than on our anniversary.  After all we needed something to do with Kadie's school being canceled from the Swine Flu!

Laney was quite the climber...wanted to do it all herself!
(In actuality, she is climbing horizontal...
the picture looks more impressive that what actually took place). :)

JOSH SENIOR AND JOSH (Crew) JUNIOR ARE KINGS OF THE MOUNTAIN!!!

We did have a hot date later that night.  Josh took me to our favorite Thai place and we ate yummy food...then he took me shopping for new clothes!  It was so much fun just the two of us.
And he totally out did himself this year on the gift thing.  Thank you Joshy...I love you!

Um...No Comment

Leisa: "Laney what are you doing?"
Laney: "I want 'baby Cool' to eat MY food"!

I {Heart} Josh!

It's all rainy and gloomy today, on Cinco de Mayo.  Not much of a reminder of the beautiful sun filled day 8 years ago when Josh and I were married.  I can hardly believe it has been 8 years...I never thought in only 8 years we would have married, graduated college, moved to California and have three children.  Here are a few fun photos through the years...best times right Joshy?
( I feel bad for anything before 2008...we have such a small amount of pictures compared to the past couple of years).

One more thing...for those of you who tried to scare Josh and I about year number 7...we scratched that itch.  We made it through with flying colors and a new baby too.  Take that!

Don't you love how I made Josh take a picture with Goofy and Pluto?  Love it!  Haha.

Josh, I just want you to know how lucky and grateful I feel.  I never thought that 8 years ago I could love you more than that day we got married.  I never knew what a great husband and daddy you would turn out to be.  I truly appreciate all that you do for me to show me that you care and love me and the girlies...and our new little baby Crew!  Makes me think of that country song 'just another day in paradise', I know you know that song. :)  I can't wait to see what another 8 years will bring.  I love you!

School and Church Canceled

This morning, I got two emails I would never thought I would get.

1) One child tested positive for Swine Flu, so school is canceled for the whole week, including Kadie's field trip I was going to help on.  Truly a bummer.  Back to school May 11th.

2) Because of the confirmed case of the Swine Flu/H1N1 virus of a child at Kadie's school, Primary is canceled...and until further notice from our Stake President other meetings as well.

CRAZY!!!  I HOPE WE DON'T DIE!  Just kidding, we are fine.  I am glad we have food storage in case we are quarantined.

Let's Go Fly a Kite!

Grandma Waldron came this last week to visit and meet baby Crew.
The girls are already missing their Grandma.

She came stocked full of surprises and fun times.  Melodie brought so many cool things for the girlies... but the coolest were the kites that we took to the park.
We were thankful for a windy day!

After about 10 minutes Kadie was a pro...
she told us later that she was the best kite flier she knew.

Below: Kadie and Grandma flying their kites high in the sky!
Below: It was too hard to get all of our kids together in a picture smiling, because of course both of the girls wanted to hold Crew.  So we just did one girl at a time. :)

All four Waldron Grand kids!  Laney crying, Kadie sticking her tongue out...it was again, the best we could do.  That is cousin Morgan on grandma's lap.

Thanks for coming Grandma!
We miss you already and can't wait to see you again in a few weeks.

He LOVES it mama!

While feeding Crew on the couch, Laney went to the potty!  Hurray!!!  She then wanted chocolate chips for a "potty treat".  So I laid Crew on the couch, and gave her a few chocolate chips in a cup to enjoy while I went to stir some spices into the pork roast.

Laney came into the kitchen and told me "the baby licked my chocit!  He liked my chocit-ships mama, he LOVES it mama!"

"Oh that's great Laney" I said.

Laney: "Hmm, (shoulder shrug) he likes my chocit-ships mama, he LOVES it!"

"Wait, what did you say?" I gasped as I quickly freaked out and ran to check on Crew on the couch.  There was no sign of slimy chocolate chips anywhere, no more chocolate chips at all in sight!

"Laney did you give the baby a whole chocolate chip?"

"Yes, he LOVES it mama" she said while pointing at Crew.  I notice that he seems to really be licking his lips.  So I quickly do a finger swipe to find a chocolate chip stuck to the roof of Crew's mouth.

This is just episode one I am sure, of MORE incidents yet to come.
I better keep a better eye on Laney.
