BlackSingles.com

When I was born, my mom decided to spell my name L-E-I-S-A, instead of the L-I-S-A version. All because the nurse came in and said "Liza" to the L-I-S-A spelling, so my mom just popped an "e" in there. I actually love it now, because it is different. I like to be different sometimes, so I take pride in the spelling of my name. :)

Once we moved to California, where there are black people (as opposed to Utah), every fall my new teacher(s) would call out for "Lay-ee-sah" and then act surprised when a tiny white girl said, "here!" I was even voted the vice president of the BSU (Black Student Union) as a joke by my friend Chris who was black and thought it was hilarious when our substitute in Art called for "Lay-ee-sah" again and again...even after I said "here".

I now get emails from Blacksingles.com.

Maybe I will join just for fun. :)
