TAHOE: Day 5 North Tahoe Beach

Last day!
Sunny and Sweet.
Digging, splashing, paddle boarding, smiling, eating, lounging, sand throwing, full day of fun.

The end!
We miss you Tahoe, and all of the family filled fun that came of it.

TAHOE: Day 4 Beach Bummin'

Back to the Beach!
Zephyr Cove at Tahoe

I think that my kids would be happy to live at the beach in a tent. With nothing but water and sand to play with ever. It was a great day!

(below) Crew was buried for the first time,
and Laney was made into a sand mermaid yet again!

One of these days Debbie and I are going to live close enough to each other that we can hang out nightly and take pictures of really cool and/or really silly things.
She is my soul sister. (cue Train song).

TAHOE: Day 3 Cruisin'

The goal seems to be that every vacation the men go golfing and eat well. So in return the lady's have started to leave the children with the men and do something girly! This time around Debs had the fantastic idea of going on a Day Cruise! It was so much fun to do something different.

Pictures to prove that Debbie could very well have grown up in my family.

Little did we know that our cruise was going to show us the story of Mark Twain.
I could not decide if this fellows hair was real or not. Also, if you ever go on a Day cruise, be warned that the "actors" talk the ENTIRE time, and quite loudly, so sit up on top of the ship. :)

Cruise day over. :(

TAHOE: Day 2 Northstar

Northstar at Tahoe!

Kadie has been asking for horse back riding lessons for a year now. I waited to make sure it was more than a "phase". Her dream became a reality at Tahoe where she was able to do pony camp! She learned all about pony's, got to brush and groom her pony "Sweat Pea", and even ride it around. She loved it to say the least!

Laney and Cousin Morgan got to take a few pony rides as well!

While Kadie was at pony camp for 3 hours, the rest of us ventured to North Tahoe Beach to bum around. A nice lady let us use her Kayak. We felt like we could have stayed for hours on end.

Laney easily transformed into a sand monster, and Crew splish splashed around the whole time. He is learning NOT to eat sand slowly but surely.

We had so much fun at North Tahoe Beach because hardly anyone was there. Also, the water was shallow 100 feet out with sand banks to jump off of.
The decision was to come back the next day!

Back Track to TAHOE

Virginia City

This year for the Waldron Family vacation we were lucky to go to Tahoe!
After living here for 7 years, it was about time.

Day one took us to Virginia City where we saw ate awesome tri-tip sandwiches, window shopped in the old town, and even saw a gun show.

(below) Here are the girls choosing some lollipops in the biggest candy store I think they have been in. Kadie loved the rock and crystal shops and brought home a purple crystal souvenir.

After the old town fun we went swimming in the hot springs pool at the lodge we were staying at. Laney swam all by herself for the first time to Uncle Spencer! Crew and Morgan got dunked and Crew loved it!

The Waldron boys made up their own golf course on the green of the resort.

Kadie spent her time throwing rocks into the river and making silly faces.

Laney even took a swing!

I love Josh's pose. :)

That's it for day 1!

Kadie's Powers

Kadie just shared with me some secrets. That she has "powers".

They are:
1. She can see "double vision". When she pokes her eyes, she sees two of the same person or thing.
2. When she looks at the sun she can see colored dots around after she looks away.
3. She has vampire looking teeth. But she promises she won't bite unless it is a bad guy. Her other 3rd power is that she can run really fast. She wanted both of these to be 3rd.
4. She can taste the air.

I always knew she was special, but I had no idea she had "powers".

Shelter Cove 4th of July!

Ah...I am beginning to have a real love for this little place.
Makes me smile when I hear words like "beach", "lighthouse", "fog" or even "crab".

This trip was FULL of family, great food, fun times...and as always a few haircuts. Cade and Mike jumped in and tried their hand at cutting each others hair. I think it really bonded them.

See what I mean? Look at the smile on Mike's face. He really loves Cade.

On the day of the 4th of July we headed downtown for the festivities! Believe it or not, about 15 minutes before I took this picture of the lighthouse the road was FILLED with golf carts and decorated bicycles.

I think the parade was 3 times as big this year as compared to two years ago!

The girls decorated their bikes with the help of Grammy, Nick and Josh. Christmas tinsel and artificial flowers adorned every part of their "rides".
They were so pretty that everyone wanted to take a turn!

This was the bulk of the parade. Residents who own golf carts driving the loop by the ocean and past the lighthouse. It was just crazy!

Laney even hitched a ride with some people we didn't even know! Morgan and Cade saw where they lived so we figured we were okay to let her sit with them. Only in Shelter Cove...

Kadie found a lady bug!

Our favorite statue got his turn to take pictures with us.

Poor Mr. Mole who is probably one-eyed now due to a certain sisters husband. (cade).

After the parade it was off to the beach while Chef Morgan prepared us an always delicious meal!

Crew ate a little bit of sand, but nothing like last time...
he is learning!

The girls collected sea shells and crabs!
Probably about 100 of both, and I am NOT exaggerating.

Skylar loved the beach.

I had to put this picture in because it was like Crew closed his eyes on purpose,
and he looks so cute.

Don't forget to look at the bottom right picture in this collage. One of Josh's best ever.

Handsome Uncle Josh!
Blue Steel baby.

Nick and Jose threw rocks into the ocean...BIG rocks. They didn't quite make it into the water.

Are all three of these cute kids mine?

Here is Kadie with her 100 + crabs!

This was just a few...

Hermit crabs and sand crabs.
They were so tiny that we thought they were spiders!

Cheers to another great weekend at Shelter Cove. Can't wait to get back!
