Backtracking to Shelter Cove

Our favorite place to get away from it all.
And I am serious about the "from it all" part. No cell reception at all. It is great.
You might need a few minutes to read this whole post.

On the way there, we always stop half way and go to McDonald's and let the girls get something at the town Dollar Store. Kadie got a mustache this time around.

We left right after school and got there just in time to pick up a pizza and watch the sun go down.
It was REALLY windy.
Crew kept trying to taste the wind when it wasn't taking his breath away.

Day 2! Rocky beach here we come!
Crew loved the rocks, and we even found him a rock chair!

They are still newlyweds. :) So cute.

Grandpa and little Crew boy playing with the rocks.

Crew just wanted to play in the rocks the entire time.
He didn't even want his mama to hold him!
We saw crabs, birds, and flowers like usual. But this time we also saw a Moose!
He hung out on the golf course all day long!

Cade got all dressed up to go golfing. He wore his cute outfit the whole time. I told him he is welcome to borrow my scarf anytime he wants. :)

Crew took his first steps in Shelter Cove!
He had taken 3-4 before, but took a long stride that weekend.

We took the kids to the Tea House and got Hot chocolate and scones. Laney was kind of a stinker, but still had fun.

Day 3
On to the treasure hunt! Morgan and Cade are making this a tradition. Each time they come, we go on a treasure hunt! Pirates, maps to follow, x's to find, and treasure to dig up! It is the real deal, and the girls just love it - as do the rest of us!

Kadie found a new favorite spot for us this time! A small stream just behind the beach. Perfect for making sand castles and hanging out all day. We can't wait to go back!

The girls went to town digging once they found the "x"

The treasure was found!

JUMP!!! Nick didn't make it, and almost lost a shoe. :(

Morgan and the kids sorting through the treasure!

Grammy, ummm... You have a little something... right...right there.

Uncle Josh

Uncle {Pirate} Nick Scallywag
Check out the mustache and chest hair! (eyeliner)

We even spotted some dolphins!

Kadie found the tiniest hermit crab we had ever seen. She kept him, and made her own little place for him and a few of his friends. Morgan called it a "Crab-i-tat"

The Crab-i-tat

Dinner before.

Dinner after.
This picture is kind of gross.

Thanks for a great weekend everyone!

NINE

Josh and I have known each other 10 1/2 years. MARRIED FOR NINE! It has gone by so fast but also, I can hardly remember my life before him. When we first got married Josh and I talked about kids and homes and where we would settle down. I had no idea the wonderful tiny people that would come into our lives, or what a wonderful father and husband Josh would become. I love Josh, I really do. I am not just saying that on my blog to fake you all out. I have loved the last Nine years going on many many more.

He spoiled me with the new Michael Buble CD Crazy Love (corny, but also dreamy...you are in denial if you don't think so). It was fitting too because our love is crazy. :) Josh would say Crazy Good. He also planned a night away this weekend in Carmel at our FAVORITE bed and breakfast - the CandleLight Inn. I can't wait to eat Amazing Italian at Casanova's and window shop on the streets. Thanks Morgan and Cade for agreeing to watch the kidlets. And thank you Joshy for planning a getaway! I love you.

Crazy Love

Happy Cinco De Mayo to everyone else. And for Josh and I ...Happy Nine Years!!!

I don't want to be your boyfriend!

Laney's latest. Can someone please tell me where she learned it from?

If something doesn't go her way...she yells:
"I don't want to be your boyfriend!" as she walks away with her shoulders and head down.

It is cute, sad and funny at the same time.

The Birthday Boy!

We never really did anything big for the girls for their first birthday. I feel guilty about that now because it was SO MUCH FUN making it a big deal.
Even if he won't remember it, we have pictures to prove it. :)

He got so many cool toys! Definitely spoiled. Drums, and trucks, and blocks, and even a basketball hoop! We are stocked up on boy toys now. He loves crawling through things, and I think he will love his new tube from Grammy!

He even tried a little smack at the pinata!

I don't know who had more fun. The kids beating the pinata to a pulp...
or Josh swinging the pinata around everywhere and teasing the kids.

When it finally broke, it was candy warfare.

What is a party with out a little "weird" mixed in?

Singing Happy Birthday to Crew was so much fun.
He was a little scared, but clapped at the end.
And he loved his cupcake!

If you are ever bored, and need something to do. Just blow up some balloons and see what comes of them. We got quite creative.

Happy birthday Crew! We love you!
