H1N1

H1N1 immunized.
All of us except Josh.

I feel like a celebrity!
Say what you want about my choice,
I know celebrities get hassled and judged no matter what choices they make.

I will take the bad with the good, and I feel pretty good.

For Paco...

Guess where Kadie's field trip was this last week Paco?

IN-N-OUT BURGER

This post is dedicated to my grandpa Pack a.k.a. "Paco", who is In n Outs biggest fan.
He has their menu's laminated as place mats in their 5th wheel for when they go to Arizona each year. They once traveled 2 hours to eat at In n Out Burger. When they returned they realized that my grandma's purse was left there. So they called the restaurant which had her purse and held it for them, and they traveled 2 hours back to get it. Since they were at In n Out again, they enjoyed another burger! :)

Kadie learned all sorts of amazing things. In n Out uses all fresh ingredients of course. They make everything to order...so nothing has been sitting for hours before you eat it. They even have their own warehouse that patties the meat for their stores. We learned that they use...

4 x 4 (or 4 x 5) ACE tomatoes (HUGE!)
Kennebec Potatoes (GINORMOUS!)
Bermuda Onions because they are sweet

Kadie chopped her own potato!
Then, they fried up the potatoes that the kids chopped
and they got to eat them with their orders.

Here is Kadie placing her very own order like an adult.
One grilled cheese sandwich - plain, with fries and a pink lemonade.

All of the kids placed an order and ate for free. I tried to act like I didn't really care, but when they told us that the adults could order a free meal too I was the first one in line.
I thought that would make you proud Paco. ;)

We went back to school full and happy.

Seven year check up

We forgot Kadie's seven year check up in July. So I took her today.

Kadie is...
48 lbs - this is HUGE!!! She is almost at 50 lbs. I think when that happens we will throw a party.
46 1/2 inches tall

I found out she will most likely be taller than me.
She is on track to be 5' 3 or 4". No fair! I always dreamed of being 5'3".

Kadie and I also got a flu shot. She was very brave.

Way to grow Kadie!

Halloween Day!!!

First things first. Josh had to sort the candy we bought FOR the trick-or-treaters so that we kept all of the good stuff. Funny how the child in us comes out so easily on days like this. :)

The Skeleton Baby...

The Spider girl...

The Child Witch!
Ah HA HA Ha ha ha haaaaaaaaaaaaa...

We only took the kids up one street really. When the door was opened and a person held out the candy bowl saying "take two or three..." Laney would take two or three. Then when the person would look at another child and say "take two or three..." - Laney would take two or three again.

If there was a bowl of candy left outside the door, Laney would drop to her knee's, put her bucket right next to the bowl and start shoving handfuls inside. We had to keep telling her "Just take one Laney, then say thank you!" She just couldn't help herself.

It was a fun improvement from last year when we went to the first house and she just wanted to sit down and eat the two pieces of chocolate she had. This year she understood it too well.

She ended up with 138 pieces of candy, FROM ONE STREET and one culdesac. Maybe 25 homes...

Josh took Kadie to Blackhawk after our neighborhood and they were gone until 10:00!
Kadie came home with a pillowcase full of candy to add to her full bucket.
I know Josh was using her as his scapegoat.

Luckily the Pumpkin Fairy came last night and took most (but not all) of the candy.
She left some treats, play dough and tic tac toe games instead.

Thank you pumpkin Fairy. :)

We hope you had a Happy Halloween too!

Halloween School Day

Halloween was a party day at school. Kadie's teacher even told them the day before that they would not be ALLOWED to open their desks. :)

It started off with the Halloween parade! Being a short person I didn't exactly have an advantage...this is a picture I got through an opening of people in front of me. I had to crop and zoom in to see Kadie better. Stinking rude people...would barely get out of my way. I almost turned into the Mother Lion.

Then the classroom party. Their were potions to make, treats to eat and games to play!

Her teacher Mrs. Young did this last year too. She made a witches brew with frog's blood (cherry soda), hearts (frozen raspberry's), and slime (ice cream). There were other things, but I was distracted with my other two kids. :) I am lucky I got a picture at all.

Then the class read a spooky story!

Last year, I left with Laney during the story and came back later to find that after the story all of the kids went home with their parents around 2:00. I didn't come back to get her until 3:00.
She reminded me that she would not like that to happen this year.

School was out at 1:30 this year officially.
So we went to grammy's after to show off her costume!

It was so much harder to take pictures and participate with Kadie with one baby attached to me in his carrier, and one toddler child running around. But I am still glad we went to support her.
Kadie had a great day.

Pumpkins

My grandparents are in town this Halloween!
When we were visiting with them last weekend,
they had the most awesome idea to carve pumpkins...

Grandpa got his favorite job. :)

This is the first of many pictures of Laney covering her face.

If you look closely, Kadie is trying to make the same face as her Jack-o-lantern.
And Laney is actually smiling in her picture. (Amazing Josh could get her to do it).
These are the before (drawing with marker on the pumpkins) and after they were carved.

For the Picture Below!
Top Left - Kadie doing her witch cackle and Laney has something in her eye?
Top Right - Kadie acting scared, Laney being Laney
Bottom Left - Laney didn't know we were taking another picture, Kadie growling
Bottom Right - Kadie being sassy, Laney being Laney. :)

Happy Halloween!!!

Getting Bigger!

Just had Crew's 6 month check up yesterday...

He is 26 3/4 inches tall (over two feet? So weird.) - 45 %
17 lb 3 oz - 28 %
17 1/4 inch head circumference - 37 %

He isn't as big as I thought...according to the percentiles.
Compared to Kadie's 1 year weight of 12 1/2 lbs...he is nice and chubby.

I hope the next 6 months go slower, but I have a feeling they won't. :(
